AUGUST 29TH, 2026

The Treasury Committee of Young Methodists for Tradition (YMFT) has received information returning from the IRS that our application for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status was approved. After many prayers and a long dialogue among the membership and the council of committee leaders, as well as the work from official government sources, we are now an official non-profit.

This marks a great progression in the organization from a group of young adults dedicated to the UMC from across the country to an official non-profit and marks a great day for the future of YMFT and its mission in the UMC.

Official ‘first’ meetings will be held within the next month, as well as other possibilities for YMFT apparel or donations, though this is to be discussed with the YMFT council.
